Nexus policies
Copyright and rights policy
Nexus respects intellectual property and reviews reports about material available through its service.
Sharing requires a lawful basis
Only share material when you have the necessary rights, permission, or another applicable legal basis. A file being accessible on another website, an uploader's licence label, or a private library setting does not establish that your use is lawful. These rules apply to all media types, including books, comics, photographs, music, films, and television.
Nexus does not claim ownership of third-party works. Providers remain responsible for their own services; Nexus can restrict access through Nexus but cannot remove files from an independent provider.
Report a concern
Use Report content at the bottom of a library, group, collection, or content page. You do not need a Nexus account. Identify the specific material, explain why it is unlawful or violates these policies, include relevant supporting links, and provide an email address for follow-up. You may also contact the source provider, but you do not have to do that before reporting to Nexus.
Copyright notices
Identify the copyrighted work, the Nexus location of the disputed material, and the copyright owner or representative. Explain your authority to act and provide your electronic signature. Confirm your good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the owner, their agent, or the law, and that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act, under penalty of perjury. Include any further contact or supporting information needed for your notice in the details field.
The reporting form provides a way to bring a concern to Nexus. It does not represent registration of a designated DMCA agent or guarantee that a submission meets every jurisdiction's formal notice requirements.
Review and restrictions
Nexus reviews reports and may request additional information, dismiss unsupported reports, restrict access to the library owner, or disable access through Nexus. We act promptly where a sufficiently substantiated notice or other information establishes unlawful activity. Serious concerns may require access to be disabled while review continues.
Restrictions can cover a library, a group or collection and its contents, or an individual item. Users must not evade restrictions by changing visibility, moving, copying, or reimporting material. Repeat or serious violations can lead to an account ban and withdrawal of public access to that account's libraries.
Decisions and requests for review
Save the private receipt link shown after submission. The report status and decision reason are available there. Library owners can read decisions in Moderation decisions in their account navigation. These notices do not publish a reporter's contact information.
If a report or restriction is mistaken, use Request a review on the receipt or account decision page. Explain the mistake and provide evidence of permission, ownership, an applicable exception, or other relevant facts. This internal review does not replace any formal statutory counter-notice, judicial remedy, or other legal right. Restoration is reviewed by an administrator and remains subject to other restrictions or binding orders.
Responsible reporting and privacy
Submit reports honestly. Knowingly false claims, impersonation, and abuse of the reporting process are prohibited. Reporter contact details and supporting information are available to authorised administrators and may be disclosed when necessary to handle a dispute or meet legal obligations. Keep your receipt link private; anyone possessing it can access your report. See the Privacy policy for how records are handled.
